CMP announced on August 7 that it ranked No. 393 in INSIDE Public Accounting’s 2026 IPA 500, placing the accounting and advisory firm within the publication’s Top 400 grouping. The CMP IPA 500 ranking is a measure of relative net-revenue scale among the 500 largest U.S. CPA firms, rather than a measure of audit quality or client outcomes.
The announcement marks a benchmark for a firm that serves privately held businesses and individuals nationally from offices in Layton, Logan and St. George, Utah. CMP described the placement as a milestone in its growth and expansion, but did not disclose its revenue, a prior-year position or the factors behind its 2026 ranking.
What does CMP’s IPA 500 ranking measure?
INSIDE Public Accounting ranks the 500 largest CPA firms in the United States by net revenue each year. The publication groups the results into the Top 100, Top 200, Top 300, Top 400 and Top 500, making No. 393 part of the Top 400 tier.
The ranking offers a snapshot of firm size, growth and market position across the profession, according to INSIDE Public Accounting. Its position in the annual list can change with organic growth, mergers and acquisitions, and changing market conditions. The available IPA material explains that framework but does not display CMP’s individual No. 393 listing; the placement is reported in CMP’s August 7 announcement.
Revenue rankings have become one indicator of scale in a U.S. accounting-services field where firms pursue expansion both through internal growth and transactions. IPA’s methodology does not establish which of those forces, if any, affected CMP’s position. Nor does a ranking alone show a firm’s profitability, client base, staffing or service quality.
What services does CMP provide?
CMP’s announcement says the firm provides tax, accounting and advisory work, including tax planning and preparation, audits and reviews, outsourced chief financial officer services, bookkeeping, payroll and business valuations. It also lists estate and succession planning, retirement-plan administration, cost-segregation studies, research-and-development tax-credit support and cryptocurrency tax assistance.
Founded in 1977, the firm says it has developed from a regional practice into a national provider. Tax partner Josh Liechty said the ranking reflected employees’ work and clients’ trust, and said the firm intends to keep building the capacity to support clients’ financial and business needs.
CMP also said it is investing in people, technology and professional capabilities as client requirements become more complex. Its national accounting and advisory services now sit within a Top 400 revenue grouping whose annual standings can reflect both consolidation and organic expansion across the profession.
