Finextra’s FIS lending webinar is scheduled for 23 September 2026, with an online panel examining how commercial lenders could use artificial intelligence, data and connected systems across credit operations. The event, held in association with FIS, begins at 15:00 BST, 16:00 CEST and 10:00 EDT, according to Finextra’s listing.
The agenda focuses on commercial lending from loan origination and credit assessment through management and servicing. Finextra says the discussion will consider whether banks can replace disconnected products and workflows with integrated platforms that bring together systems, processes, data, partners and staff.
What will the Finextra FIS lending webinar cover?
Finextra has advertised four main areas for the session:
- the move from siloed lending systems to end-to-end platforms;
- AI applications in underwriting, workflow automation, risk monitoring and servicing;
- real-time analytics and API-enabled ecosystems in decision-making; and
- modernisation approaches intended to improve efficiency, decision-making and portfolio performance without a wholesale replacement of existing technology.
An API, or application programming interface, is a system access point or library function with defined syntax that application programs or user code can use to provide a defined function, according to NIST documentation. In the event listing, Finextra presents API-enabled connectivity as one of the technologies to be discussed alongside real-time analytics; the listing does not set out a particular technical model or implementation.
The speakers listed are Dale Glajchen, FIS vice-president and head of commercial loan servicing and syndication; Emily Bogan, FIS global head of lending origination and credit; and Anish Shah, research director at Chartis Research. Sharon Kimathi, a Finextra researcher, will moderate.
Finextra says the conversation draws on the Chartis Credit Lending Operations 2026 report. The event page does not reproduce the report’s findings, data or methodology, so it does not independently establish that integrated platforms or AI applications produce the performance improvements described in the agenda.
Finextra also says financial institutions must balance innovation with operational resilience, and should find practical ways to develop existing environments without disrupting business performance. The session is framed as a discussion of those choices rather than an announcement of a product deployment or a reported set of lending results.
