Tipalti Flagright AML compliance work is expanding after Flagright said Tipalti has chosen its platform as one of the tools supporting the payables company’s compliance infrastructure. The arrangement adds AI-native anti-money-laundering workflows to processes used around accounts payable, mass payouts, cross-border payments and marketplace activity, according to Flagright.
Flagright describes itself as an AI operating system for financial crime compliance. The company said its compliance stack is designed to give financial institutions and payment operators more speed, control, explainability and auditability through a unified system.
Tipalti will use Flagright as a complement to its existing compliance framework, according to Manish Vrishaketu, Tipalti’s chief customer and operations officer. Vrishaketu said compliance has been central to Tipalti’s ability to operate at scale and that Flagright supports processes tied to global growth and changing regulatory demands.
What does the Tipalti Flagright AML partnership cover?
The partnership covers tools that help detect, assess, investigate and report possible financial crime risks in payment operations. In practice, AML compliance systems are used to monitor transactions and counterparties for money-laundering indicators, then move alerts into investigation and reporting workflows where required.
Flagright said its transaction monitoring capability supports configurable typologies for accounts payable, mass payout, cross-border payment and marketplace workflows. Typologies are the risk patterns or rules a compliance team uses to identify activity that may need review.
The company also said its platform provides dynamic risk scoring for counterparties and transactions. That scoring changes as behavior and contextual signals change, rather than relying only on static information gathered at onboarding.
For investigations, Flagright said its enterprise case management features include triage, queue management, quality-assurance workflows and audit trails. Those functions are intended to connect detection, investigation and reporting in a single process, from the creation of an alert through case closure.
How Flagright says its AI compliance tools work
Flagright said its AI forensics capabilities can reconstruct complex payment trails, group related activity and support evidence-based investigations. The company also said its open data and reporting features allow analyst-led exploration and management dashboards that can integrate with existing data and tooling.
Madhu G. Nadig, Flagright’s co-founder and chief technology officer, said financial crime compliance has moved beyond monitoring individual transactions toward connecting risk signals, governance and explainability across payment operations. He said Flagright aims to support Tipalti with better visibility and operational efficiency while maintaining standards for global payments.
The announcement places the partnership within a broader shift in financial crime controls, where payment companies are under pressure to show not only that alerts were generated, but also why decisions were made and how investigations were documented. Flagright’s stated focus on audit trails and explainability speaks to that demand, though the companies did not disclose financial terms, implementation timelines or specific jurisdictions covered by the arrangement.
