TMX Investor Solutions has agreed a technology collaboration with Oslo-based Optio Incentives, with the companies planning a Canadian introduction of Optio’s equity-plan platform by the end of 2026. The TMX Optio Incentives collaboration, announced on August 11, 2026, combines Optio’s technology with TMX Investor Solutions’ Canadian equity-plan business, market knowledge, regulatory expertise and client relationships, according to TMX Group.
TMX Investor Solutions is a subsidiary of TMX Group. Optio provides technology for equity compensation and incentive-plan administration. The companies said the planned Canadian offering is intended to address local market and regulatory needs.
What will the TMX Optio Incentives collaboration offer in Canada?
The partnership is a planned market introduction, rather than a completed rollout. TMX Group said Optio’s platform and capabilities will become available in Canada for the first time through the collaboration, while TMX Investor Solutions will contribute local support and its existing equity-plan solutions activities.
Lara Donaldson, president of TMX Investor Solutions, said the agreement brings Optio’s technology together with the company’s Canadian expertise. Christoffer Herheim, chief executive of Optio Incentives, said the arrangement creates an opportunity to build an offering around the needs of the Canadian market.
The announcement did not disclose a contract value, exclusivity terms, Canadian customer commitments, implementation stages or expected revenue contribution. It also did not specify any regulatory approvals connected with the planned introduction.
Optio’s stated scale
According to TMX Group’s announcement, Optio serves more than 500 companies and administers equity plans for more than 1 million participants across more than 100 countries. The company supports more than 10,000 plans globally, TMX Group said.
Those figures describe Optio’s existing client and plan-administration footprint, as reported by the companies. They do not establish the number of Canadian clients that may use the platform once it is introduced.
What is confirmed and what remains to be decided?
Confirmed: TMX Investor Solutions and Optio have announced their technology collaboration.
Planned: The companies aim to introduce Optio’s platform in Canada by the end of 2026.
Not disclosed: Financial terms, customer commitments, rollout milestones and the commercial effect on either company.
The announcement therefore sets out the intended technology and local-market roles, but leaves the scale and commercial results of the Canadian rollout to be determined.
