Ebury has become Ipswich Town FC’s official foreign exchange partner under a multi-year agreement, the global financial solutions firm said. The deal gives the football club support for foreign exchange and international payments as it expands its operations on and off the pitch.

No financial value for the partnership was disclosed in the announcement. Ebury said it would work with Ipswich Town on cross-border transaction requirements and provide international payment support suited to the club’s changing needs.

Foreign exchange and international payment services are used when organisations need to send, receive or convert money across currencies and jurisdictions. For a football club, that can include payments linked to international commercial activity or other cross-border obligations, depending on the club’s operations. Ebury said its role will be to help Ipswich Town manage such transactions more efficiently.

Commercial presence at the club

The agreement also gives Ebury a visible role across Ipswich Town’s digital and matchday channels. The firm will appear on club platforms and at home fixtures, according to the announcement.

Future first-team men’s and women’s player signings will carry the tagline “Powered by Ebury”, the company said. The partnership therefore combines payment services for the club with brand exposure through football media and matchday assets.

Ebury and Ipswich Town also plan to work together on initiatives aimed at the business community in East Anglia. The announcement said those efforts would bring local organisations together around growth and international opportunity.

Sport partnerships and payments

Ebury described the agreement as part of its wider investment in partnerships with organisations focused on growth and innovation. The firm said it is using its international payments expertise alongside sports partnerships to strengthen its presence in key markets.

Peter Brooks, co-global head of sport at Ebury, said the company was “delighted” to partner with Ipswich Town, citing the club’s history and ambitions. He said efficient management of international payments would become increasingly important as the club grows, and that Ebury would support the club with its expertise.

Brooks added that Ebury looked forward to building a long-term partnership supporting Ipswich Town “both on and off the pitch”, while working with the club to engage businesses across East Anglia.

Abu Salk, finance director at Ipswich Town FC, said the club was pleased to welcome Ebury as official foreign exchange partner. He said the firm’s international financial services expertise would provide support to the club and create opportunities through the partnership.
