AEA Investors has appointed Adam Biren as a partner and head of capital formation for the Americas, PE Hub reported. The appointment places Biren within the firm’s investor relations and fundraising team, adding an executive whose recent roles focused on investor coverage in the US South and Southeast.

Biren joins AEA from Apollo Global Management, where he was a managing director in client and product solutions, according to PE Hub. In that role, he led investor coverage for the US South and Southeast.

The capital formation post links AEA’s fundraising activity with investor relations across the Americas. In private markets, those functions typically support a firm’s work with institutional and other investors during fundraisings and across the life of a fund, though PE Hub did not provide details on Biren’s specific mandate beyond his title and team placement.

Career in private funds and alternatives

Before Apollo, Biren worked at Evercore as a vice president in the private funds group, PE Hub reported. His responsibilities there also included leading investor coverage for the US South and Southeast.

Earlier in his career, Biren spent more than six years at JPMorgan, according to PE Hub. He served as an executive director in the alternative investments group within the bank’s private bank.

AEA Investors is a private equity firm listed in PE Hub’s database. PE Hub did not disclose financial terms, fund information, a start date or any additional changes to AEA’s fundraising and investor relations structure tied to the appointment.

This story draws on original reporting from PE Hub.
