Bluestone Investment Partners has made an investment in Delphinus Engineering, a Newtown Square, Pennsylvania-based company serving the US Navy and the maritime defense community, PE Hub reported. Financial terms were not disclosed, leaving the transaction size, valuation and ownership structure outside the public record.
Delphinus provides maintenance, modernization and industrial services for naval and maritime defense customers, according to PE Hub. The company was founded in 1994.
As part of the investment, Roby Lentz will take over leadership of Delphinus as chief executive officer, PE Hub reported. Founder Ranjit Das will retire from the business.
The disclosed details indicate a private equity-backed leadership transition at a defense services company with a long operating history. PE Hub did not report whether Bluestone’s investment was a control transaction, minority stake or another form of capital backing.
For investors and operators tracking the defense services sector, the deal adds to activity around companies that support naval readiness and maritime operations. The absence of financial terms limits any direct read-across for valuation multiples or financing conditions in the transaction.
