Brightstar Capital Partners has acquired BrightTree Studios, a Warrendale, Pennsylvania-based technology design and consulting firm, PE Hub reported. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, leaving the purchase price, financing structure and seller details outside the public record.

BrightTree specializes in audiovisual systems, IT and telecom, security and acoustics, according to PE Hub. The firm serves clients in higher education, healthcare and corporate markets, and was launched in 2014.

The acquisition places BrightTree alongside KZF Design and Erdman within Brightstar’s architecture and design platform, PE Hub reported. In private equity, a platform typically serves as the operating base for a broader investment strategy, with additional acquisitions used to expand services, customer reach or geographic coverage. PE Hub did not report further details on Brightstar’s plans for the combined group.

The deal adds technology design and consulting capabilities to a platform already positioned around architecture and design services. BrightTree’s work in audiovisual, telecom, security and acoustics sits in areas that often intersect with building design, workplace planning, healthcare facilities and campus projects.

Brightstar Capital Partners is the buyer in the transaction, according to PE Hub. BrightTree’s headquarters are in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. No management changes, employee counts, revenue figures or integration timetable were disclosed in the report.

This story draws on original reporting from PE Hub.
