Care Career has acquired MAS Medical Staffing, adding the Periscope Equity-backed healthcare staffing agency to its Las Vegas-based workforce technology organization, PE Hub reported. The Care Career MAS Medical Staffing transaction is the buyer’s seventh strategic acquisition in the past 24 months, and financial terms were not disclosed.

Care Career said it expects consolidated annual revenue to exceed a quarter of a billion dollars by the end of 2026, according to PE Hub. That figure gives investors and healthcare operators a scale marker for the combined business, although the company did not disclose MAS Medical Staffing’s revenue, purchase price or contribution to the target.

MAS Medical Staffing is based in Manchester, New Hampshire, and operates as a travel nurse and allied staffing agency. The company was founded in 2002 and was backed by Periscope Equity before the acquisition, according to the report.

What is MAS Medical Staffing?

MAS Medical Staffing is a healthcare staffing business focused on travel nurse and allied staffing, with headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire. Founded in 2002, the company places healthcare personnel into roles that support provider staffing needs, according to PE Hub’s description of the business.

The transaction adds another staffing asset to Care Career, which describes itself as a healthcare workforce technology organization. In healthcare staffing, agencies typically connect clinicians and other healthcare workers with hospitals, care facilities and providers that need temporary or contract labor, while workforce technology can support matching, scheduling, visibility and operational workflow.

Care Career’s group president and chief executive, Siva Konatham, said the company’s goal is to build artificial intelligence-powered infrastructure for healthcare workforce management. “Under my leadership, Care Career is focused on transforming a fragmented, labor-intensive industry into a data-driven, technology-enabled ecosystem that improves speed, efficiency, and workforce visibility for healthcare providers,” Konatham said, according to PE Hub.

What did Care Career disclose about the deal?

The company disclosed the acquisition, the identity of the seller-backed business and its revenue expectation for the combined organization, but did not release valuation details. Without financial terms, the deal’s enterprise value, financing mix and return to Periscope Equity cannot be assessed from the public information reported.

The acquisition continues a two-year period of deal activity for Care Career. PE Hub reported that the MAS Medical Staffing purchase represents the company’s seventh strategic acquisition in 24 months, positioning M&A as a central part of its growth plan in healthcare workforce management.

Periscope Equity’s backing of MAS Medical Staffing places the transaction within private equity’s broader activity in healthcare services and technology-enabled business services. The report did not state whether Periscope retained any ownership interest after the transaction or identify other investors involved in the deal.

This story draws on original reporting from PE Hub.
