Juniper Landscaping, a portfolio company of Bregal Partners, has acquired Compass Environmental and Aquatic Weeds Inc., PE Hub reported. The two businesses are based in Central Florida and provide aquatic maintenance and related shoreline restoration services.
PE Hub did not report a transaction value. The deal adds two specialist operators to Juniper, whose branch network spans Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania, according to PE Hub.
Brandon Duke serves as chief executive of Juniper Landscaping, PE Hub reported. The company’s backing by Bregal Partners places the transaction in the private equity-backed services consolidation market, where platform companies often add regional or technical capabilities through acquisitions.
Aquatic maintenance typically covers the care of ponds, lakes and other managed water bodies, while shoreline restoration services are tied to the repair or stabilization of water-adjacent land. PE Hub identified Compass Environmental and Aquatic Weeds as providers in those areas.
The acquisition broadens Juniper’s exposure to services adjacent to traditional landscaping in Florida, one of the states where the company already has branch locations, according to PE Hub. No additional information on management changes, financing or integration plans was reported.
