Littlejohn & Co. has elevated Brian Michaud to managing partner, PE Hub reported, in a senior leadership update at a private equity firm with about $9 billion in regulatory assets under management. The Greenwich, Connecticut-based manager also changed titles for two existing senior leaders, naming Michael Klein chairman and Brian Ramsay vice chairman, according to PE Hub.

Michaud joined Littlejohn in 2007 and serves on the firm’s investment committee, PE Hub reported. That committee role places him within the group responsible for reviewing and approving investment activity, a central governance function for a private equity manager.

The promotion adds Michaud to the managing partner level at a firm active in private equity. PE Hub identified Littlejohn as headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, and reported its regulatory assets under management at roughly $9 billion.

Senior titles shift

PE Hub reported that Klein, previously identified as managing partner and chief executive, has been named chairman. Ramsay, previously identified as managing partner and president, has been named vice chairman.

The reported changes set out a revised leadership structure across the firm’s senior ranks. No transaction, fundraising total, portfolio-company change or additional personnel move was disclosed by PE Hub in connection with Michaud’s promotion.

For private equity investors, senior-title changes can clarify who sits at the centre of investment governance and firm management. In this case, PE Hub’s report identifies Michaud’s long tenure and investment committee membership as the key background to his elevation.

Littlejohn’s scale, as reported by PE Hub, places the firm among private capital managers with multibillion-dollar regulatory assets under management. Regulatory assets under management are used in filings and oversight contexts and may differ from narrower measures of fee-paying capital or deployed capital, depending on a manager’s structure and reporting basis.

PE Hub did not report further financial terms or changes to Littlejohn’s ownership, strategy or fund lineup.
