ICE USA, a company backed by Godspeed Capital, has acquired Southeastern Land Company, PE Hub reported. The transaction gives the ICE USA platform another provider tied to public infrastructure and utility work, and PE Hub said it is the fourth addition to the platform.

Financial terms were not included in PE Hub’s report. The announcement also did not state the seller, financing structure or any changes to management.

Southeastern Land Company, also referred to as SLC, is based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to PE Hub. The company provides right-of-way and easement acquisition services as well as project management for public infrastructure and utility projects.

PE Hub reported that SLC was founded in 1996. Its work sits in a part of the infrastructure market that supports the practical delivery of projects before construction or system upgrades can proceed. Right-of-way and easement acquisition generally concerns obtaining the property access or usage rights needed for infrastructure and utility assets, while project management coordinates the steps required to move those assignments through execution.

Platform expansion

Godspeed Capital’s backing of ICE USA places the deal within the private equity platform model, where a sponsor builds around an operating company through acquisitions that add services, geographic reach or customer relationships. PE Hub identified SLC as the fourth add-on to the ICE USA platform, indicating that Godspeed has continued to expand the business through acquisitions.

The reported acquisition adds a South Carolina-based firm with experience in right-of-way, easement and project management services. Those functions are used by public-sector and utility customers that need outside support for projects involving land access and coordination.

PE Hub categorized the transaction in business services. The report did not provide revenue, employee count, customer names or closing date details.
