Micross acquires AEMtec under an agreement that would bring the Berlin-based microelectronics manufacturer into the Behrman Capital portfolio company, PE Hub reported. The financial terms of the transaction were not released, and the deal is slated to close in the second half of 2026, according to the report.

Micross Components, based in Melville, New York, supplies high-reliability microelectronic products and related services for aerospace, defense, space, medical and industrial uses, PE Hub reported. AEMtec provides microelectronic and optoelectronic modules, advanced packaging, testing and assembly services for high-reliability applications.

The acquisition would extend Micross’s reach into Europe and add capabilities in specialized manufacturing for electronics used in demanding operating environments. Behrman Capital Managing Partner Simon Lonergan said in comments reported by PE Hub that the transaction strengthens the combined company’s position in high-reliability microelectronics and supports a broader global product and services offering.

What does Micross acquire with AEMtec?

AEMtec brings manufacturing services for complex microelectronics and optoelectronics, including module production, packaging, testing and assembly, according to PE Hub. In high-reliability markets, those steps are part of turning sensitive electronic components into systems built for sectors where failure tolerance is low, such as aerospace, defense, space, medical and industrial applications.

AEMtec is currently backed by Capiton, PE Hub reported. As part of the transaction, AEMtec’s management team will join Micross, including Chief Executive Robert Giertz.

The deal would be Micross’s eleventh acquisition since Behrman Capital took ownership, according to PE Hub. Private equity-backed acquisition programs often use add-on deals to broaden product lines, add technical capacity or enter new geographic markets. In this case, the reported strategic focus is on expanding Micross’s high-reliability microelectronics offering and increasing access to the European market.

Harris Williams served as exclusive financial adviser to Micross on the transaction, PE Hub reported. Goodwin Procter LLP provided legal counsel to Micross in connection with the deal.

No purchase price, financing structure or revenue figures for AEMtec were disclosed in the report. The transaction remains pending until its anticipated closing in the second half of 2026.
